UP Safe is a project to improve the aspect and the security of the neighborhood around Universidad Panamericana campus Bonaterra in Aguascalientes, México. It comprises the development of a new methodology to join the community in an urban project leaded by the School of Architecture of the University.

As a follow-up, the team of the School of Architecture had a meeting with neighbors of Universidad Panamericana to show the maps of detected problems in our community.

Attendants were representatives of habitational neighborhoods across the avenue as well as a representative of the Hyatt Hotel.

The aim was to identify problems in the neighborhood concerning security and together all the attendants checked the research made for around one and a half months by students of the School of Architecture.

The issue is very important to increase security and well-being with the guidance of the School of Architecture at Universidad Panamericana, but taking into account the most important stakeholders of the community.

If we notice carefully, there are 769 homes in the area, one big university, two hotels, one drugstore, one convenience store as well as a fist of small stores and restaurants. Including the population of Universidad Panamericana, an estimation is to benefit around 3500 persons in the area.

After this rich exercise, now the team of students will enter into creative sessions to propose solutions from the School of Architecture point of view.
