Creative work session with MVE+Partners
March 7th, 2024
MVE+Partners is an American architecture firm with offices in the western United States of America with which the School of Architecture of the Universidad Panamericana has formed a team for the development of real architectural and urban projects.
The project under development, called Attainable Housing, seeks to solve the enormous problem of access to housing suffered by people with great difficulties in owning their own home.
Started in January of the current year, the project has been closely supervised by MVE+Partners and it was time to present the progress in the firm's offices in Guadalajara to address the creative stage of the architectural program, the same as the first proposals were made during the visit.
It is up to the sixth semester Architecture group to carry out this project with the guidance of architects Arturo Barros and Alberto Serna, who have included in the project the development of a concert hall that will be integrated into the housing complex considering the participation of the School of Architecture in the international competition The Quarry Concert Hall. The coordination of the whole project is done by Dr. Brenda Díaz Macías, Academic Secretary, and the dean Luis Arturo Méndez Alba, both from the School of Architecture at UP.
For the development of the project integrating the two themes, a piece of land north of the city of Aguascalientes has been chosen that was formerly a construction material quarry called the Korea Graves, which due to its relief characteristics represents a very challenging and opportunity.
MVE+Partners has the advice of Architect Liliana Bernardis, director of the office for Mexico, and Architect Ana Lucía Ramírez, senior designer of the firm.
The result of the collaborative work at the MVE+Partners facilities was very enriching for the students as they showed a professional investigation of the topics in question and received feedback from creative executives from an international architecture firm.
The project is scheduled to be delivered at the beginning of June 2024 in a great exhibition that will be held at the facilities of the Aguascalientes City Museum.
