Students from the School of Architecture participated in the Second Luminaire Design Competition organized by the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES), where six students won awards and two received honorable mentions.
Mtro. Ing. Álvaro Nieva Montes de Oca, professor of the course Lighting Technology for Spaces and member of the IES, guided the students in developing proposals in two categories: indoor luminaires and outdoor luminaires.
The competition evaluated aesthetics, functionality, creativity, innovation, and feasibility in producing a novel and attractive design. The proposals were presented in pairs, with each team submitting rendered images of their luminaire designs.
The awards ceremony took place at the College of Architects of Aguascalientes, with distinguished guests including Dr. César Alejandro Ventura Ruiz Esparza, host and President of the College of Architects of Aguascalientes; Ing.
