ARQUITÓPICOS X

On May 13, 2026, Arquitópicos X, took place. On this occasion, it followed a one-day format: conferences in the morning and workshops in the afternoon.

At the beginning of the event, we had the presence of our Campus Rector, Mtro. Antonio de los Reyes, and Provost Dr, Ramiro Velázquez, who addressed the students of the School of Architecture.

The Dean of the School, Mtro. Luis Arturo Méndez Alba, also offered words of welcome, encouraging students to make the most of the content of the conferences and workshops as an additional complement to their growth as architects, noting that this learning will be reflected in the EGEL exam taken at the end of the degree program.

The first conference, titled “Restudio: The Practice”, was delivered by Architects Mtra. Patricia Gallardo and Mtro. Benito Gutiérrez from the Restudio firm. They shared with the students their projects and built works, showing different applications of bioclimatic and sustainable design that can be implemented in architecture, with the aim of offering users comfortable spaces according to the climate where they are built, and as a way to help prevent environmental deterioration.

The second conference, “The Concept of Love: Freedom, Meaning, and Vocation”, was presented by Esp. Daniel Gómez, who shared with the students various ideas and anecdotes about freedom, meaning, and vocation to enrich their humanistic formation as architects.

“From Concept to Reality” was the third conference, delivered by Mtro. Arq. Carlos Fernández Mussachio, who shared his professional experience with architectural projects that have been recognized in various forums, including international ones. He also explained to students how to make the most of a project to achieve solutions that address aesthetic aspects, profitability, and client satisfaction with the results obtained.

The final conference was given by Arq. David Hernández, who explained the relationship between Quality and Design and how this combination is fundamental to presenting stylish projects. By paying attention to details, quality designs are achieved—hence the title of his conference: “Quality… A Lifestyle.”

In the afternoon, four workshops were held in different classrooms of the university. Participants were architecture students who had previously chosen the workshop that most interested them.

Ing. Luis Arandia conducted the workshop “Archetypal Innovation: Breaking Your Limiting Paradigms to Create Your Own Reality.” Through his professional and personal life experience, he showed students the full potential they possess to face all the challenges life presents.

Arq. Lourdes Nieva, an expert in photography, introduced students to the subject of architectural photography, which is essential for capturing the details of architectural buildings.

Ing. Daniela Nájera developed her workshop “Design Thinking: Transform Problems into Urban Solutions,” a methodology crucial for architects to present accurate solutions to well-identified problems.

We also had the presence of Arq. Jesús González Toledo, who spoke on “From Concept to Light.”

Thus, Arquitópicos X was carried out with the participation of distinguished professionals with profound professional and life experience, shared with all the students of the School of Architecture.
